Rotated Dropdown List reverts when opened by some users

Hello,

A client has asked for an editable store layout to use during a remodel. Each "aisle" has a dropdown list of departments that they can choose from and change as items move around during the remodel. Everything is working great except for the aisles that run vertically instead of horizontally. For vertical aisles, I created a long, narrow dropdown box and then in the properties, I changed the orientation to 90 or 270 degrees. It is working perfectly on my mac, and I emailed it to several other mac and windows users in the office, and they were also able to use it with no issues. However, when I emailed it to the client and they opened it, the dropdown list reverts to 0 degrees, making the department names un-readable. This is a screenshot that they sent:

The reverted dropdown box is there on the left. On the right, you can see some dropdowns that are still properly rotated, however as soon as the client clicks on any of them, the list rotates to 0.

 

I am struggling because I (nor anyone in my office) can replicate the issue, so I cannot figure out what is going wrong. The client is using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, which is the same version I am using. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm getting desperate!

yes Ive started a new project and added media.. that works fine.  Its like the old project doesn't have media anymore - the media doesn't show up.

After that  I can open, print, close without the confirmation dialog.

 

But I do not want to re-save the documents, I want the original save dates on disk.

Aja, hoping to help you, more than 50 people have viewed your request and two experts at this Forum have spent time and made a serious effort to respond: requesting additional information and offering advice. At this point I suggest that you get in touch with the company that provided those confusing requirements and simply ask for a clarification in words you (and we) can understand. You are entitled to that.

I can get the same result as you, but customer asked for it to look like below example. When I copy and paste what we got into Bengali to English translator, it changes to look like below example that customer asked for. Is it just a font issue and they mean the same thing?

Just like I said with Tord, if you could post a link to it in a direct message along with some of the media/proxies for the clip and explain which project item that the media belongs, I will have a better idea as to what is going on.

For the past few months, when I install an update of LR Classic CC, the app downloads, taking several minutes, and then tries to install, but the install fails at the end.

The same occurred yesterday when I installed

At the bottom right on the screen there is a brief message about a failure to access a folder, but it goes away too fast to read.

I tried going to Virus and threat protections and turned off "real time protection."

That did not work.  I added separately turning off
"Controlled folder access."  This worked.

Each time an error like this occurs you have to start again from the beginning, including download, and it all takes several minutes.

Problems like this have been reported for several months now, and it is time for Adobe to fix it.

It should not just wait for each user to hit the same problem.  That is lazy programming.

It should be possible when this happens to stop at the point where it might happen, test to see if it will happen, give the user instructions about the required settings, access the necessary folder, then stop again and advise the user to restore the protections before continuing.  This would minimze the time when the protections are disabled.

Better still would be to have enough rapport with Microsoft to solve this without the user needing to do anything.

Currently on LR 7.3.1, Windows 10 1803.

I agree. Audition is well suited for this and a better/easier application to use for removing unwanted pops and click. Open up your audio in Audition and pretty much follow the 3 areas I circled in the screen shot below. Look for the areas that peak and simply use the healing brush to click on that area and Audition will do the rest with pretty amazing results.

Thanks for your reply's, I managed to download from the links and get them up and running.

 

Unfortunately I am unable to edit hero 5 footage on elements 9 as the highest project resolution I can see is 1080, and I am shooting at 2.7k.

 

Am I going to have to pay out for a newer version?

Can I copy Drop Down lists in a PDF excel style form?

Hello community,

I created a PDF form from an excel spreadsheet.  I would like to make all the fields in a colum a dropdown box with the same choices (each has about 12 choices).  I created the first field as a drop down and populated it with the choices I wanted it to display.  With the "Keep tool selected" option active I then

  • chose the option to "Use current properties as new defaults".  I then went to paste the dropdown in the next few fields but when I went back into document view the newer boxes have an arrow on the right side as if it is a drop down box but there is no list and it just gives me an audible error ding when I click in the box (top boxes in column 4)
  • Next I tried the option to "Make multiple copies" but it will only allow me to copy right 1 field (can not set that to zero) and down 4 fields at a time.  Going down it copied correctly and allowed unique choices from the drop down in each copied box (see column 4 last 2 boxes) but
    • when I get to the next page I have to create the list over and
    • I also have to delete all the entires it created on the right of the cell
    • Plus, since I tested in the bottom cell I can't copy up

Is there a way to fix this?  Unlike in a spreadsheet, the verbiage does not repeat when you start typing so I wanted to create a drop down to ensure consistancy.

 

Same goes with the date field.  If I set a field to be a date and chose the option to "Use current properties as new defaults" then input text boxes in the next fields the newer boxes are just boxes with no calendar and I can't figure out a way to format the boxes as a group vs individually.

 

I use these spreadsheets often in Excel but I really would like to create them in PDF forms format because it would be easier in my opinion to control the security on the form.
