Have you checked the option to put the product on "sale"?
Them, on prices tab use "recommended retail price" field for the original price and "sell price" field for the new price after discount.
On modules templates, online shop, individual product - large: insert both tags and show/hide with css, you can also add a small claim showing that the product is on sale in the products list.
