Well, someone did indeed move a rock.
As it so happens, I am not a graphics designer. Not even close. I can. on the other hand, easily take other people's designs and modify them, adding some value. Which is the reason that people post templates, both free and for a fee. If I had to design from scratch, it would be a painful process. I can do it, but it doesn't come easy to me.
As for making money being an editor, that is a different matter. I have made reasonably significant sums producing tutorials for telecommunications companies. I did it all, from designing the curriculum to presenting, to shooting and editing.
I seriously doubt I could compete as a pure video editor, but as a producer of content, I have done just fine. I no longer do much of that, mostly because the usefulness of the topic I am the expert on is slowly fading into obscurity. About the time I retire, it should almost have died out. Good timing for me. Technology changes, and some of us are inclined to ride a technology to its end, and have milked it for all it was worth.
My credits in instructional videos speak for themselves. Check out the Lynda.com videos I authored. I also have been the technical editor for other tutorials. And I made a significant sum updating other people's books about editing.
Our friend Snarky may very well be a competent editor, but he is a troll on these forums who may eventually learn that his input from this persona has no value. But don't hold your breath.
