But, the answer may reside in something you have not answered so far.
I have assumed that your camcorder is recording to a DVD disc. If that is correct, what type of disc is it - DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, or something else? I am particularly interested to know if the disc is DVD-RAM type.
After you put the DVD disc into the DVD burner tray, are you going to the computer area that shows the drives, right clicking the drive for the DVD burner, and selecting Open. When it opens, you should see a VIDEO_TS Folder. Open the VIDEO_TS Folder and copy the video file with the file name of
VTS_01_01.VOB.
For this particular test, I do not want you to put the DVD disc in the DVD burner tray and then open Premiere Elements and use its Add Media/"DVD camera and Computer Drive"/Video Importer.
