Thanks. I actually was impressed by the adobe support tech I spoke with. After telling me I was SOL terminating the call (and posting here), I got an e-mail from the tech with a link to my account page, where there were two serial numbers listed. While the pade didnt identify what products they were for. One obviously was from my Adobe 9 disc. I ultimately was able to install the upgrade after identifying the other serial as the one from Adobe 8.
All has ended well.
