When you have copied the whole card to the HDD you CAN export to mxf.
Put the Contents folder in a folder of its own and call it e.g. VIDEO1.
Open XF utility and Set Virtual Media to the VIDEO1 folder and hit OK
Now all the clips open, select them all and Export to MXF.
This is what a single file in its own folder looks like.
Now copy that mxf file to another location and import.
